Alejandra was born in Mexico City and has always had an interest in the indigenous art and culture. After living abroad for a while, Ale valued much more the richness of the Mexican culture, its colors, flavors, textures; so when she returned, she decided to dedicate herself to be a tour guide for European tourist groups and thus share with them all the folklore that Mexico has to offer.

During these trips as a tourist guide (or journeys as she calls them), she met many artisans with whom she now works directly with and most of them are located in the states of Chiapas, Morelos, Oaxaca, Puebla, Guerrero and Campeche. From this passion for Mexican culture, folklore and art is how Mexican Beauty Shop is born, a brand driven by love for Mexico, as well as admiration for the ancient heritage for the creation of handcrafted objects in a traditional way, some of them with the support of such tools as the waist loom.

The vast majority of Mexican Beauty Shop products are traditional textiles that inspire through their colors, textures and embroidery. They are fashion and home decoration products that fuse Mexican customs with today’s world; being a great option to give a touch of color to an outfit or any corner of your home.

The designs of Mexican Beauty Shop are thought and designed by Ale with the help of artisans who give a unique touch to each product with trendy colors and iconic characters of Mexican culture as Frida Kahlo, catrinas and calacas.

The work of Alejandra and Mexican Beauty Shop is an immense one that undoubtedly helps to preserve and spread the importance of Mexican craftsmanship, as well as help the livelihood of thousands of indigenous families who today live from artisan production. Mexican Beauty Shop shares the stories of each of the artisans and reaches every corner of the world, from the United States, Spain and Germany, to Australia, Malaysia and Montenegro.
