Dalua Reluce marca de moda sostenible y upcycling _

As soon as you meet Blanca you feel her good vibe. She is a happy person without many complications, only the normal ones. Blanca is like a free bird that has flown several nests in different impressive places that have contributed a lot to her personal and professional growth. Mexico, Guatemala and the United States, in addition to her native Spain, have been some of the places that have inspired her and given her the creativity she needs to be part of sustainable fashion and continue creating upcycled clothing that shines in every way.

With her characteristic spirit and personality, Blanca merges cultures with Dalua Reluce. Something that began by experimenting with sewing and reused elements about 10 years ago, is what in 2014 becomes a defined project that combines second-hand clothes and reused textiles. Dalua Reluce is born from giving free rein to Blanca’s creativity and as an opportunity to create her own clothes and stop buying unnecessarily; besides being able to organize, remake and give a second life to many garments that would otherwise end up in landfills.

The main material used in Dalua’s garments is the famous denim, a historical and modern garment that takes a safe place in our wardrobe. In addition to the reused denim, Blanca uses traditional textiles from countries where she has lived and with which she shares a history. The reason she uses this kind of textiles is because of the cultural value they have, being typical of each country and surviving in spite of living in a world with fast fashion. These textiles are also reused or are remnants of other garments, which helps to reduce waste.

Besides her great creativity, Blanca is an environmental warrior. She would like Dalua to reach the new generations who will decide if fashion goes towards sustainability or stays as it is. She would like to continue sharing her knowledge of sustainable fashion, sewing, zero waste and reuse through workshops and talks; as well as giving outreach to indigenous artisans and weavers in Mexico and Guatemala.

Dalua Reluce’s clothing is a great example of sustainable fashion, upcycling and reuse of materials. Each garment is unique and original; but the best part is that you can ask Blanca to customize your favorite denim garment, I assure you it will look like new and you won’t want to stop wearing it!
