First of all, I hope that everyone is very well in these moments of confinement in which more than ever we all need to support each other and work as a team. During these days, almost all of our attention has been focused on keeping us informed about the progress of the coronavirus pandemic and the confinement measures we must take. With all this, a large nuber of businesses closed; among them local stores and small businesses that, like all the rest, will have to face new challenges when this is over.
As many of you know, Valexico is one of those small businesses. Our focus is helping other small businesses, as well as artisans, artists and designers, who live from the production of their handicrafts and handmade products. That’s why my main objective right now is to continue supporting them so that the struggle won’t be so hard.
Is it safe to receive deliveries from online stores during coronavirus?
One of the main questions we’ve all been asking ourselves these days is how safe it is to order from online stores. Although it is still not completely clear how long the cornavirus can survive in a package, the World Health Organization (WHO) concludes that although the virus can survive outside the body from a few hours to a few days, there is no risk of receiving packages from infected areas. The products that are sold in our online store are made by the artisans, so it is them who, when making the shipment, take the proper precautions and follow the sanitary measures so that the product arrives in good condition to its destination. However, one of the main concerns remains the people who work in the shipping companies and that they are the ones who may be exposed to a contagion.
The shipping recommendations of our delivery partners is to make the collections and deliveries at home, avoiding unnecessary displacements and avoiding the maximum risks to our health and those around us. They have also implemented measures to minimise the risk to the delivery staff by asking them to wear gloves and masks and by eliminating the need to sign delivery notes to avoid physical contact with the receiver.
What measures are we taking?
In Valéxico we are concerned about the economic repercussions that will be unleashed along with this coronavirus pandemic, but the most important thing is that we all feel good so that together we can face the next challenge.
That is why I’ve decided to make the following solutions available to you:
1.- Order now and receive now. As I mentioned above, all the people we work with, from the craftsmen to the delivery partners, are taking the necessary sanitary measures to ship the products. Due to the situation, some delivery times are taking longer than normal, so it is very important that you have your address updated to avoid further delays. In any case, we will share the tracking number with you so that you can keep track of it.
2.- Order now and receive later. You can choose to order your product now and have it shipped when the confinement is over. To use this option, all you have to do is select the “Money Transfer” payment option on the cart page to register your order. When the confinement due to coronavirus is finished and the shipments are regularized, we will send you an email with the steps to follow.
3.- Browse the website and choose to customize a product. Many of the craftsmen and designers work with unique pieces, so it may be the case that some products have to be made specifically for an order. Also, some of them work with personalized orders in which you can choose the color of a crystal, fabric or the size of a t-shirt. Once you are browsing the store and choose a product that can be customized, send us an email to atencion@valexicostore.com with the product information and specifications to customize it. You will be able to know if the product can be customized, since next to the stock number you will find the phrase “Can be backordered”.
During this time (and also when the confinement is over) I remain at the disposal of all customers and artisans to answer their questions, clarify their doubts or simply assist them personally.
