Graciela is an independent fashion designer, a lover of animals and everything vintage, and she’s Mexican too! In February 2005, together with her husband Luigi Capeto, they opened a small store on Sdrucciolodei Pitti Street in Florence, Italy; creating a concept store that offered exclusive vintage clothing and accessories from Italian and European brands. Over the years, to be exact in 2010, Pitti Vintage closes its doors to concentrate on a new stage: their online and free of animal cruelty shop.
Thanks to the fact that she studied fashion design in Mexico City and a series of specialized courses in design, draping and pattern making in New York, Graciela decided to start her own line of handbags and wallets all made with vegan leather. This twist on using animal cruelty-free materials is no accident. In addition to being aware of the issue, when she adopted her two dogs, Sara and Kiko, she realized the poor conditions in which they were kept and decided to start looking for quality vegan leather for her designs.

Starting with a small collection of 6 bags, the reaction of the vegan community was impressive; which made Graciela and Luigi decide to grow Pitti Vintage to what it is today. Inspired by centuries of artisan culture, traditions and skills from the “Made in Italy” culture, their priority is to offer high quality products. Each piece is carefully designed and hand-made with passion, precision and joy: the three most important attributes of the beauty of handmade products.
