Hello! I am Mariana and I welcome you to the Valexico blog.
In case you don’t know yet, Valexico is an online shop that sells handmade products and Mexican and Spanish handcrafts. It is a space designed to support entrepreneurs, artisans and artists to promote their creations so they can reach a greater number of people; in addition to create awareness about responsible consumerism.
I know, first hand, how difficult it is to be an entrepreneur, that is why Valexico was born with the aim of sharing the value behind handmade products, craftsmanship and that the customers know the whole process through which an entrepreneur passes since they have the idea of a product until they sell it.
Why buy handmade products?
Buying handmade products is not only helping a person we know because we know all the effort that they put into it and the passion with which they do their work. Buying handmade products and handcrafts is to activate the local economy, is to leave behind consumerism and buying only cheap things wothout thinking if we need them or how they will last; it’s beaing aware of what we are buying and who we are buying it from.
Thanks to these ideas, which I’m not the only one that has them, some initiative are born, such as slow fashion, eco fashion and my favorite slow concept. All these initiatives have the same purpose, get us to slow down; Although it sounds a little cliché, they invite us to enjoy the little things in life, to think about the environment when we go grocery shopping, to buy only what we need and think before doing so. It’s not the same to buy a product that is worth €9.99, that is going to break in two months and then you’ll have to buy another, than buying a product worth €35 and not have to replace it until the end of time (or until your dog is eat it). If you ask me, it’s a win-win for the entrepreneur, artist and craftsman, the environment and also for your wallet.
For these reasons, and because I really love this entrepreneur thing, is that in the blog you’ll be able to find more information about the artisans, entrepreneurs and artists who sell their products through our platform. You will know their stories, their inspiration and how each one lives the slow concept in their own way. In addition to these great stories, I will share ideas and tips on how to be a responsible consumer or at least what I do to be so, in order to help our finances and, since we’re already in it, the environment.
If you know someone who has handmade products that you think may be interested in selling their products on the platform, share our mail (proveedores@valexicostore.com) so we can contact them.
Thank you for reading and for joining this great idea; I am sure that together we can make this community grow to become a small change in this world.

One day I woke up wanting something different so Istarted a business, then a blog and today an online store. I try to live a sustainable life and one where I can help others. The day I run out of ideas, I know that everything has gone to shit.
